The council scooped Gold at the Chelsea Flower Show for the seventh year running, with a display recognising and celebrating the legacy of the Windrush Generation.
The Windrush Generations free exhibition, at the Library of Birmingham until 30 June, celebrates the city’s Caribbean communities. Birmingham school children met members of the Windrush generation when they opened the event last month.
In light of the recent flooding that affected a number of areas across the city, the council prepared advice to share with relatives, friends and neighbours. Why not also sign up to the free emergency messaging service Birmingham Community Alerts and findthe information to help keep you prepared in case of any other emergency?
It’s Volunteers Week 2018, from 1-7 June. The week celebrates the contributionmillions of volunteers make across Birmingham and the UK, every year. For example, last year alone, volunteers contributed 62,101 hours to our parks service. You can find out more on our website.
