Burglars in Monmouth Drive

On 31st December burglars attempted to break into a house in Monmouth Drive via the patio doors at the back, and also, having used dustbins to climb on a flat roof at the side of the house, tried to crowbar various windows open.  Fortunately, Rehau window frames were fitted and saved the day.  The windows were broken and a mess, but the burglars didn’t get in.  The Police arrived quickly, forensics/safety advisor came next day and the local PCSO Satpal came the day after.
The unfortunate residents are going to implement much of their advice:

Keep the porch door locked.
Chain up dustbins.
Install anti snap locks.
Spikes on fence tops.

Put “flashy” cars behind locked gates or bollards.

It seems they were not alone.  PCSO Satpal had stories of several recent incidents along Monmouth Drive, and locally, of burglary/demands for car keys/car theft.  Much worse outcomes than theirs.
